I Fereshteh Setayesh, was born and raised in the city of Tehran, the beautiful country of Iran. Growing up as a young girl, my world contained of only two things, my books that helped me through my quiet times, and my color pencils that often filled up every blank paper, and the corner of every math and history book.
While most young girls my age, spent most of their time, competing to be the best student and the greatest future scientist, I spent most of my time daydreaming and what I like to call fantasizing, and I’d often take these dreams, and turn them into short stories, poetry and paintings.
To me, the females’ physic and curves was the most fascinating thing to draw, and the more I drew the more passionate I became about art.
Struggling all through high school with low grades, I finally graduated and with the support of my father, I decided to peruse my passion of becoming a great painter.
At the age of 18, I met my very first art instructor, Aidin Aghdashloo, and asked him to train me in bettering my craft. He agreed to take me under his wings, and this was the beginning of a long journey filled with ups and downs.
My very first exhibition brought me a great deal of positive feedbacks and it was then I knew that art was my destiny.
Over the years I learned that we discover ourselves only when we follow our dreams. It was through painting that I found God. I realized my strengths and weaknesses through my creations and the images I brought onto canvas.
I have been very privileged to have studied with the finest Iranian art instructors such as Parvaneh Etemadi, Mohsen Khalili, Babak Etminani and etc…
Over the years I have held very many exhibitions all over the world, and I will continue with this journey for as long as I am able.
